چکیده
Background: The incidence of community and nosocomial candidiasis has dramatically increased in the last two decades. There are multiple treatments for this infection, but toxicity some induction resistant strains require development new compounds. Objectives: With aim reducing Candida population oropharyngeal cavity, we have formulated a toothpaste with VG-01 agent, composed mixture carnosic acid (CA) propolis (PP). Methods: We investigated ability to minimize stabilize fungal presence 21 patients diagnosed clinical candidiasis. Results: Our data indicate that showed an effect not only against most frequent species Candida, C. albicans , also other analyzed. 82% stated they would continue using it outside study. Conclusion: demonstrate VG-01, CA PP is potential antimycotic agent effective common cause present practice.

Oropharyngeal candidiasis: a new treatment option.
In this issue of Clinical Infectious Diseases, Vazquez et al. [1] demonstrate in a well-conceived and well-conducted multicenter trial that posaconazole is equivalent in efficacy to fluconazole in the treatment of oropharyngeal candidiasis in HIV-infected patients. Patients given posaconazole also experienced fewer clinical relapses of oro-pharyngeal candidiasis than did patients given fluconaz...
متن کاملTherapeutic efficacy of lanoconazole, a new imidazole antimycotic agent, for experimental cutaneous candidiasis in guinea pigs.
The therapeutic efficacy of 1% cream and 1% solution of lanoconazole, a new imidazole antimycotic agent, in the model of cutaneous candidiasis in prednisolone-treated guinea pigs was evaluated in comparison with that of comparable formulations of bifonazole. Each preparation was topically applied once a day for 3 consecutive days, starting on the fifth day postinfection, and quantitative cultur...
متن کاملNew model of oropharyngeal candidiasis in mice.
We established a straightforward murine model of oropharyngeal candidiasis. Mice were immunosuppressed with cortisone acetate, anesthetized, and then inoculated by placing cotton wool balls saturated with Candida albicans sublingually for 2 h. A prolonged, reproducible infection was induced. This model may be useful for antifungal screening or pathogenesis studies.
متن کاملHost defense against oropharyngeal and vaginal candidiasis: Site-specific differences.
Mucosal candidiasis is extremely common in immunocompromised patients. However, the prevalence of site-specific infection (i.e., oropharyngeal, vaginal, and esophageal candidiasis) can be quite variable depending on the immune status of the host. While vulvovaginal candidiasis is common in normal healthy women, oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis are more frequently encountered under immun...
متن کاملGenetically recombinant antibodies: new therapeutics against candidiasis.
Historically, the therapy of serious fungal infection has been dominated by monotherapy with the polyene antibiotic amphotericin B. Clinical failures, side effects, the lack of alternatives and the toxicity of this drug have heightened the need to produce alternative therapies, which have included fluconazole, voriconazole and caspofungin. The observation that recovery from disseminated candidi...
